We are delighted to say that we have been shortlisted for the December round of Tesco’s Bags of Help.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its Bags of Help initiative across England and Wales. The scheme sees three community groups and projects in each of 200+ Tesco regions awarded grants of £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from 1 to 31 December on who should receive the £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 awards.

The money raised will be used to fund our weekend walking group trips. Ou project will provide the opportunity for individuals to exercise as part of a fun and social group. The outings are planned as life enhancing activities, providing the adults who attend with the opportunity to broaden their horizons by visiting places that they may otherwise not be able to access, and taking part in activities which would be inaccessible without the support of our staff and volunteers. We will also include family and carers, by encouraging them to come along, take part and enjoy the activities too.

Keep your eye out for Stepping Stones at your local Tesco store and please spread the word to help us win much needed funds!
